Member Information
My wife, Sallie and I have been coming to TIP for the past 18 years and
purchased our home at 71 Outlook Avenue 4 years ago.
Before retiring, I was Director of Institutional Advancement North Cross School, where I was responsible for the School’s Development, Admission, and Marketing departments and where I recently completed a $16 million capital campaign that enabled North Cross to transform its campus. I also coached football and tennis.
Born in Utica, New York, and raised in River Edge, New Jersey, I graduated from Colgate University in 1975 where I played football and was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. After college, I joined the Marine Corps and exited at the rank of Captain in 1980.
After the Marine Corps, I spent 32 years in employee benefits in field, regional and corporate group insurance management, sales, and account leadership roles. I opened my own insurance consulting practice in 2000 and sold it in 2012 to join North Cross School.
Outside of work, I have been involved in a number of volunteer roles including leading Bible studies, serving on the St. John’s Episcopal Church vestry, serving as President of the North Carolina Kidney Foundation, serving as President of the North Carolina Combined Health Appeal, and serving on the Board of the Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing Center. I enjoy golf, tennis, fishing, being with my children, Taylor, Campbell, and Katherine, and seeing friends in Roanoke and spending time with my growing group of friends in TIP each year.
